I grew up in Southern California in an Argentine-American household and I adore making music and spending time in nature. I am profoundly fortunate to say that I get to do these wonderful things often.


  • Violist

    Argentine-American violist Aimée McAnulty was born and raised in Southern California. She joined the Ivalas Quartet in 2019 after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance from the University of Michigan and continued with the quartet to Colorado to pursue an Artist Diploma in String Quartet, studying with the acclaimed Takács Quartet and renowned violists Erika Eckert and Richard O’Neill. Post completion, Aimée continued with the quartet to New York to attend the Julliard School as the 2022 Graduate Resident String Quartet, recipients of the Lisa Arnhold Fellowship. Now based in Colorado, she plays regularly with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Sphere Ensemble, Boulder Philharmonic and was recently awarded Assistant Principal of the Cheyenne Symphony.

    As a member of the Ivalas Quartet Aimée performed in Carnegie Hall numerous times as well as Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Through Lincoln Center, she worked as a fellow for “Chamber Music Beginnings”, a three-part series bringing interactive and immersive chamber music experiences to schools in New York City, NY. In 2022 she was a recipient of the Coltman Chamber Music Competition Grand Prize and First Place award.

    She has been heard performing at several festivals, most notably: Music in the Vineyards (Napa, CA) Walla Walla Chamber Music, Eastern Sierra Symphony Chamber Festival, Aspen Music Festival and the Trentino Music Festival in Northern Italy. She is also passionate about coaching and spending time with young chamber music groups whenever she has the opportunity. While located in Los Angeles, Aimée served as principal violist for the Colburn Conservatory Chamber and Youth Orchestras and was a featured soloist and principal of the Olympia Youth Orchestra. As a proud Latinx individual Aimée strives to improve visibility and recognition for BIPOC composers and artists as well as uphold a reverence for individuality of expression.

    Aimée hopes to inspire younger generations to use their talents collaboratively, and is an enthusiastic advocate for chamber music, new music, and solo repertoire. Aimée plays a modern instrument made in 2013 by Polish maker, Stanley Kiernoziak. In her spare time, she loves backpacking, reading and baking!
